π΅π± Bee the Future CY in Katowice, Poland | YE LEAD FOR CHANGE
From 01β08 July 2026, Bee the Future CY had the opportunity to be represented by six participants from Cyprus β five young people and one group leader β in the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange βYE LEAD FOR CHANGEβ, held in Katowice, Poland.
The project brought together young people from different European countries in an international learning environment focused on leadership, active participation, personal development and positive change. Throughout the week, participants had the opportunity to step outside their everyday environments, meet people with different backgrounds and perspectives, and explore how young people can take a more active role in their communities.
Through a combination of workshops, interactive non-formal education activities, teamwork, group discussions, reflection and intercultural exchange, participants explored different aspects of leadership and the role young people can play in creating change. The learning process was based on participation and experience, allowing participants not only to discuss leadership as a concept, but also to practise communication, cooperation, decision-making and taking responsibility within an international group.
One of the important outcomes of the exchange was the development of greater confidence among participants. Working with young people from different countries encouraged them to express their ideas, listen to different opinions and approach challenges from new perspectives. The international environment also created opportunities to reflect on the similarities and differences between young people and communities across Europe.
For Bee the Future CY, participation in YE LEAD FOR CHANGE represents more than simply sending participants to an international activity. Erasmus+ mobility is an important part of our work to support young people in developing competences, discovering new opportunities and becoming more active within their communities. We believe that learning gained through international cooperation can have a wider impact when participants return home and share their experiences with others.
Following the exchange, our participants are encouraged to communicate what they have learned with their peers and local community and to promote the opportunities available through Erasmus+. In this way, the experience in Katowice can continue to create value beyond the participants who directly took part in the mobility.
The project also contributed to strengthening our international network and creating new connections with young people and organisations from across Europe. These connections can become a foundation for future cooperation, new youth activities and further opportunities for young people from Cyprus to participate in European projects.
At Bee the Future CY, we see Erasmus+ as a space where learning, intercultural understanding and active participation come together. Experiences such as YE LEAD FOR CHANGE demonstrate the value of giving young people opportunities to travel, learn, cooperate and take responsibility in an international environment.
We are proud of the six participants who represented Cyprus and Bee the Future CY in Katowice and grateful to the organisers, partner organisations, facilitators, group leaders and all participating young people who contributed to this meaningful European experience.
