Explore migration, social inclusion and artistic expression through Erasmus+!

Bee the Future CY is looking for two motivated participants from Cyprus to join the international Erasmus+ youth workers mobility project โ€œMake Art, Not Wallsโ€, taking place from 7โ€“15 November 2026 in Cornus, Southern France, near Montpellier.

Are you a youth worker, educator or community worker interested in migration, social inclusion, intercultural dialogue and the power of art? Would you like to discover new non-formal education methods, exchange experiences with international colleagues and explore how creative activities can encourage dialogue around migration? This opportunity could be for you!

The project will bring together participants from six organisations for an international learning experience focused on migration, its social and political dimensions, and the ways it is discussed and represented in society. Through non-formal education and artistic methods, participants will have the opportunity to explore different perspectives, reflect on real-world challenges and develop approaches that can be applied in their work with young people and local communities.

๐ŸŒ About โ€œMake Art, Not Wallsโ€

Migration is a complex topic that affects individuals, families, communities and societies in different ways. Discussions about migration can involve personal experiences, identity, belonging, public policies, social inclusion and the challenges people face when moving to a new country.

Youth workers and community educators can play an important role in creating spaces where these topics can be explored through respectful dialogue, critical thinking and intercultural learning.

The Erasmus+ project โ€œMake Art, Not Wallsโ€ will provide an opportunity to examine migration through non-formal education and creative expression. Participants will explore migration policies, migration journeys and the role of migration in public debate while learning how artistic methods can help people communicate experiences, question assumptions and understand different perspectives.

Art can offer an alternative way to approach complex social issues. Through creative activities, participants can explore stories, experiences and viewpoints that may otherwise be difficult to communicate. Artistic expression can also create opportunities for collaboration, reflection and dialogue between people with different backgrounds.

The training course aims to inspire youth workers to use creative methods in their own activities and to consider how arts-based approaches can contribute to more inclusive learning environments.

๐ŸŽจ What Can You Expect?

During this international learning experience, participants will engage in non-formal education activities that encourage active participation, reflection and cooperation.

The programme focuses on three key themes:

Migration policies: Explore how migration policies shape people’s experiences and influence discussions about migration in society.

Migration journeys: Reflect on the experiences, challenges and perspectives of people who migrate, recognising the importance of listening to individual stories and understanding different circumstances.

Migration in public debate: Examine how migration is discussed and represented in public conversations, encouraging critical thinking and a more informed understanding of different viewpoints.

Through artistic and creative methods, participants will have the opportunity to approach these themes from different perspectives. The international environment will also encourage the exchange of experiences, ideas and practices among youth workers from participating organisations.

The methods and insights gained during the project can inspire new activities in youth centres, community initiatives, workshops and other non-formal learning settings.

๐Ÿค Why Should You Participate?

Taking part in โ€œMake Art, Not Wallsโ€ offers more than an opportunity to travel abroad. It is a chance to develop professionally, learn from colleagues in other countries and bring new ideas into your work with young people and communities.

By participating, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Discover creative non-formal education methods for exploring migration and social inclusion.
  • Develop your understanding of migration journeys, policies and public debate.
  • Explore how artistic expression can support intercultural dialogue and communication.
  • Exchange experiences and good practices with participants from six organisations.
  • Strengthen your facilitation, communication and intercultural competences.
  • Reflect on how to create inclusive spaces for discussion and learning.
  • Bring new ideas and methods back to Cyprus and share them with your organisation and community.

The project encourages participants to approach migration as a topic that deserves thoughtful discussion, empathy, critical reflection and an understanding of different experiences.

๐Ÿ‘ฅ Who Can Apply?

We are looking for two motivated participants from Cyprus aged 18 or above.

The opportunity is particularly relevant for:

  • Youth workers involved in local or international youth activities.
  • Educators interested in non-formal learning and intercultural education.
  • Community workers supporting migrants and diverse communities.
  • People interested in migration, social inclusion, human stories and artistic methods.
  • Participants who want to develop their professional skills and share what they learn with others.

You do not need to be a professional artist. The project focuses on exploring artistic methods as educational tools, so motivation, openness to learning and a willingness to participate actively are important.

Applicants should be interested in exchanging ideas with people from different backgrounds and exploring how the learning experience can be transferred into their own work.
